Pac-12 university presidents and chancellors announced Monday they have extended commissioner Larry Scott's contract through the academic year 2017-18.

Scott became the league's sixth commissioner in 2009 and has presided over major growth and restructuring. Scott expanded the conference by adding Utah and Colorado and also negotiated a $3-billion television deal with ESPN and Fox.

Scott also added a Pac-12 football championship game and launched the Pac-12 Networks.

"I am honored and gratified by the support from the CEO Group of our great institutions," Scott said in a statement.  "We have reached a number of key milestones in the past four years and none of this would have been possible without the vision and commitment of our board."
