A Victorville man has been arrested for allegedly planting an explosive device under his ex-wife's car, forcing authorities to evacuate a Redlands shopping center for nearly an entire afternoon, police said.
Steven James Sunny, 28, was arrested Monday at a home in San Bernardino, just hours after the woman spotted something suspicious under her sport-utility vehicle, according to a statement from the Redlands Police Department.
He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder and possession of an explosive device with intent to kill.
Sunny is being held in San Bernardino County jail in lieu of $1-million bail. Federal agents searched properties in Victorville and San Bernardino, recovering unspecified evidence in both places, police said.
