November 15, 2013|By Eric Sondheimer

It has been clear all season that Narbonne, Crenshaw and Venice were far superior to any other City Section teams, and the opening round of the Division I playoffs added to the certainty.

The three schools outscored their opponents, 203-0.

Narbonne won, 58-0, over El Camino Real. Crenshaw won, 83-0, over Jefferson. Venice won, 62-0, over Locke.

In Division II, top-seeded San Fernando held out three key players in the first half against Verdugo Hills and led only, 27-17. By the game's conclusion, the Tigers outlasted the Dons and quarterback Mark Powell, 76-44.

No. 3-seeded Eagle Rock had to rally for a 31-27 win over Hamilton.

In South Gate's 62-22 win over Lincoln, Lavell Thompson rushed for 215 yards and Alexander Flatos had 140 yards rushing.
