Angry Birds is out to conquer the world -- the entertainment world, at least. A new exhibit will begin a world tour next year that explains -- in an oh-so entertaining way -- the science and technology behind the addictive mobile game.

"Angry Birds Universe: The Art and Science of a Global Phenomenon" which sounds part science lesson and part interactive fun, will be a 10,000-square-foot exhibit that promises to be educational, but not in a stuffy way.

"From astronaut Don Pettit demonstrating physics concepts using our characters while aboard the International Space Station, to stories about physics teachers using our games in their lesson plans to inspire their students, Rovio is always proud to be part of fun learning," Dan Mitchell, the company's director of location-based entertainment, said in a statement Monday. Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment is based in Finland.

Creating a mash-up of education and game-playing isn't new to Rovio. Last year the company teamed up with NASA to create the Angry Birds Space game. And an Angry Birds Space Encounter attraction opened this year at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Cape Canaveral, Fla. An Angry Birds feature film is due out in 2016 too.

Few details were given about the new exhibit in the news release, except to accent the promise of "fun learning." Rovio will team with Imagine Exhibitions and Jack Rouse Associates in developing the show.
