Kobe Bryant shares picture of signed contract extension

November 25, 2013|By Eric Pincus

The Lakers didn't wait to see Kobe Bryant back on the court against an opponent before inking him to a two-year contract extension.

Bryant is still recovering from a torn Achilles, suffered in an April win over the Golden State Warriors.

Now the team's All-Star guard will be under contract until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Bryant signed his extension shortly before he and the team embarked on a three-game road trip, starting in Washington on Tuesday.

In the photo with Bryant, center, are, from left, owner-executive Jim Buss, Bryant's agent Rob Pelinka, team secretary and general counsel Jim Perzik and General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

Bryant signed an extension to keep him the highest paid player in the NBA at $40 million to $50 million over two seasons. He's making $30.5 million for this season.
