On the night of the USC-UCLA rivalry football game, L.A. Windward turned to two future rivals to win the championship of the Palisades tournament.
UCLA-bound Jordin Canada was named tournament MVP and USC-bound Kristen Simon had 18 points and 16 rebounds to help Windward defeat Lynwood, 55-28, in the championship game Saturday night.
Next up for Windward (4-0) is the Redondo tournament and a possible meeting against Santa Ana Mater Dei next Saturday in a championship game.
