Lakers forward Metta World Peace jaws with New Orleans guard Xavier Henry. (Robert Gauthier / Los Angeles…)
The Lakers added to their roster over the past week, inviting free agents Shawne Williams and Xavier Henry to training camp.
Though terms were not released, neither is expected to have a full guarantee and will have to earn a spot on the team's 15-man roster (although the Lakers could decide to carry just 13 or 14 players).
The Lakers were also linked in reports to 35-year-old forward Pete Mickeal and veteran point guard Sebastian Telfair.
A player the Lakers once pursued in trade, Michael Beasley, was waived by the Phoenix Suns. However, there was no sense the Lakers will revisit that pursuit.
Before the Lakers open camp, Kobe Bryant will make stops in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to run basketball clinics.
Pau Gasol visited Buenos Aires to make a pitch to the International Olympic Committee, but Tokyo was nevertheless selected over Madrid for the 2020 Olympics.
