Up next for the Galaxy: Saturday vs. Seattle

Matchup between Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey is up in the air.

September 21, 2013|By Jim Peltz

When: 7:30.

Where: StubHub Center.

On the air: TV: NBC Sports Network; Radio: 1330.

Records: Galaxy 13-10-5, Sounders 15-8-4.

Record vs Sounders: 1-0-0.

Update: This is one of the most anticipated games of the season for the Galaxy, especially after star forward Clint Dempsey signed with Seattle last month. The question is whether Dempsey will be able to face off against the Galaxy's all-time leading scorer Landon Donovan — Dempsey's teammate on the U.S. national team — because Donovan is nursing a sore right ankle and was questionable for the game. Although Dempsey has yet to score for Seattle, his club is on a five-game winning streak that has lifted the Sounders to first place in Major League Soccer's tight Western Conference, but the fourth-place Galaxy is only five points behind Seattle. In the teams' first meeting this season May 26, Galaxy forward Robbie Keane had a hat trick to lead the Galaxy to a 4-0 romp at StubHub Center. They meet again in the season finale Oct. 27 in Seattle.
