PHOENIX -- Yasiel Puig will be back in the lineup Friday for the Dodgers’ series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Puig didn’t start any of the last three games as he nursed a sprained left thumb. He was injured Saturday sliding head first into first base in a game against the San Francisco Giants.

With Puig back, Matt Kemp will start the game on the bench. Puig will start in right field, Andre Ethier in center and Carl Crawford in left.

The Dodgers are visiting Chase Field for the first time since they clinched the National League West title here last year. At the time, the Diamondbacks took issue with the Dodgers’ postgame celebration, which included players' diving into the pool behind the center-field wall.

The Dodgers lineup:

Carl Crawford LF
Yasiel Puig RF
Hanley Ramirez SS
Adrian Gonzalez 1B
Andre Ethier CF
Juan Uribe 3B
Tim Federowicz C
Dee Gordon 2B
Hyun-Jin Ryu P
