Baseball: Huntington Beach is surging with 15 consecutive wins

 Huntington Beach started the season ranked No. 1 by The Times, and at midseason, the Oilers (17-2) have won 15 consecutive games, including a 3-2 win over San Jose Valley Christian on Thursday night to capture the National Classic at Cal State Fullerton.

Jarrett Anton drove in the winning run in the sixth inning and Logan Pouelsen got the save. Anton finished with two hits.

Daniel Amaral was named tournament MVP.

Next up for the Oilers is a Sunset League showdown against Fountain Valley next week.
