Two people were killed and two others injured after an accident on a roller coaster at an amusement park on the beachfront Boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J. Police said the 10 p.m. accident at Gillian's Wonderland Pier was caused by a mechanical malfunction. Witnesses said one car crashed into the rear of another on the Wild Wonder ride at this resort about 10 miles south of Atlantic City. A child and an adult were killed, said a nursing supervisor at Shore Memorial Medical Center.

A teen-age worker posing as a hanging victim along the route of a Halloween hayride was found hanged for real when the ride reached him, authorities said. A police spokesman said the weekend death appeared to be accidental. The rope was a prop and should not have gone around the boy's neck, officials said.

For the fourth time since Christmas Eve, a casino-bound bus has been involved in a crash on a New Jersey highway. No one on the bus was injured in Saturday's multi-vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway, and police said the bus continued on its trip to Atlantic City. A 13-year-old boy riding in another vehicle was in critical condition after icy weather caused the pileup. He was taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
