After the film "300" hit the screen in 2006, Google trends showed a threefold increase in searches for "six-pack abs. " And every magazine with the word "muscle" in its title shared a version of a "Secrets of the '300'" workout. But there are no secrets to seeing your abs. Methods vary, but they sum up as: Train hard. Eat fewer calories than you burn. The end. The sequel, "300: Rise of an Empire," is now in theaters, and the actors recently gathered at a Century City hotel to talk about their physical transformation from ordinary humans to chiseled glory.

Alec Baldwin, celebrated actor, self-congratulatory philanthropist and incurable hothead, is moving to Los Angeles. At least he's leaning heavily in that direction, according to a protracted rant he published in last week's issue of New York Magazine. Baldwin covered a lot of territory, from family troubles to his doomed MSNBC talk show to the indignity of having to share a Broadway stage with Shia LaBeouf. Mostly, though, he circled around his disgust for the media and, by extension, his disgust for New York City.

Jared Leto won the Academy Award for supporting actor Sunday for his portrayal of Rayon, a big-hearted transsexual combating AIDS, in the film "Dallas Buyers Club. " Leto's first Oscar win wraps up his awards circle sweep; he has received a bevy of supporting actor honors, including the Golden Globe, SAG award, L.A. Film Critics Assn. and New York Film Critics Circle. If fellow cast member Matthew McConaughey wins the leading actor trophy, he and Leto would be the fourth duo  from the same film to have won both categories.

"Will you still love me, when I'm no longer young and beautiful?" So asks the musical question in a Lana Del Rey song used as a refrain throughout the recent adaptation of "The Great Gatsby. " In some sense it is a question that Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the title role, has seemed to be asking audiences ever since the explosive fame of "Titanic" made him an international superstar. DiCaprio is a double Oscar nominee for "The Wolf of Wall Street," as both actor and producer, and along with "Gatsby," the roles showcase him as an artist at a new peak of his powers.

When Angelina Jolie arrived at Oscar rehearsals Thursday morning, she had some wisdom to share with a group of film students clustered backstage at the Dolby Theatre. The actress and director spoke to the students not of the demands of a Hollywood career, however, but of the challenges of its footwear. "I didn't fall in the hole," said Jolie, gesturing to an open spot on the stage and towering over the young adults in a pair of spike heels. "I used to wear flip-flops, but you do this a few times and you learn to wear the shoes you're going to present in. " Jolie was on hand to practice for her role in the Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night, joining 45 other presenters who would stream through the Hollywood and Highland Center over a three-day period before the show, including Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Bill Murray, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Channing Tatum and Emma Watson.

The 1,789 square feet of space includes open-concept living areas, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
