A Navy Reserve lieutenant was held Thursday pending a hearing on whether to charge him with espionage for allegedly removing secret documents from a Lockheed installation, authorities said. Alan Roger Volin, 41, of Chicago was suspected of removing "secret and confidential" documents from Lockheed Missile and Space Corp. in Sunnyvale. "A pretrial hearing will determine probable cause for charging Volin with the crime," Lt. Cmdr. George Farrar said.
