Algeria will hold legislative elections in May and June, the first since a canceled 1992 vote triggered an Islamic insurgency, officials said Saturday. The first round of the elections for the 380-seat assembly will be held May 29, with the final round set for June 5, high-ranking government officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Municipal elections will follow sometime in the second half of this year.
