One year after her death, a movie about Amy Winehouse remains a possibility, while new music is almost a certainty. Mitch Winehouse, father of the Grammy-winning singer who died from alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27, had earlier downplayed the possibility of greenlighting a film based on his daughter's life. But in an interview with the Associated Press late last week, the concept appeared to be back up for discussion. "We don't want a sensationalized movie going out, you know, but equally there's no point in sort of massaging the fact that Amy was an alcoholic and drug addict; no point in pretending that didn't happen," he said.

Ten months after the death of Amy Winehouse, the singer's family has put her London home up for sale at $4.2 million. After Winehouse died at age 27 in July, mourning fans quickly transformed the site of her three-bedroom home into a shrine dedicated to the soul diva, blanketing the sidewalk with flowers, candles, photos, cards and other mementos. According to the Sun , a family spokesperson said, "The Winehouses have decided to put the house on the market, with great regret," and added, "Amy loved that house but none of the family felt it appropriate that they should live in it. " Despite earlier speculation that the house might be turned into headquarters for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the family ultimately "decided it would be impractical to base the charity at the house.

It saddens and pains me to say it, but the granddaddy of all Halloween theme park events has gotten tired, old and complacent. After 39 years, Halloween Haunt at Knott's Berry Farm looks like a creaky, middle-aged zombie that's lost its will to rise from the grave every night. > Halloween Haunt 2011 preview: Mazes | Shows | Photos I'm not sure whether to blame the malaise on contemptuous familiarity, increased competition or just a slow night on an opening weekend, but the Buena Park theme park that set the bar for haunted attraction excellence has become overrun with interchangeable mazes full of indistinguishable monsters.

Toxicology results released to the family of singer Amy Winehouse this week raised almost as many questions as they answered, experts said Wednesday, keeping the cause of the "Rehab" singer's death a mystery. The Winehouse family issued a statement on Tuesday saying no illegal substances were found in the 27-year-old's system after her death at her London home on July 23. The absence of banned drugs may come as a relief to her father, Mitch, given Winehouse's history of drug and alcohol addiction and rampant speculation about the role narcotics may have played in her death.
