A 39-year-old Anaheim man was in critical condition Friday with severe burns across his body after contacting electrified wires, police said. Thomas Yuch suffered second- and third-degree burns over 80% of his body after his clothes burst into flames at the vacant Anaheim Foundry at 125 E. Commercial St., Anaheim Police Sgt. Chuck Craig said. Yuch apparently cut into a 12,000-volt wire just before a witness saw him "running out of the building with his clothes burning," Craig said.

A 36-year-old Anaheim man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a man he thought was having an affair with his wife, police said Tuesday. Manual Resendiz Martinez, 47, was shot early Monday. Police arrested Jose Carlos Hernandez on suspicion of murder. Investigators said he fired seven rounds from a gun, striking Martinez five times, police said. Hernandez is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana. Arraignment was set for today.

Police were searching Sunday for two Latino men believed responsible for the knife wounding of an Anaheim man, a spokesman said. Stanton Police Cpl. Fred Freeman said investigators have not turned up any leads in their search for the two men wanted in connection with Friday night's stabbing of Daniel Rojas, 25. The two men being sought are believed to be in their mid-20s, Freeman said.

Police on Monday were looking for the person who fatally shot a 24-year-old Anaheim man on a sidewalk near a large apartment complex over the weekend. Ariel Orrantia died after being shot Sunday about 9:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Lincoln Avenue, Police Sgt. Chet Barry said. "We really don't have very much suspect information," Barry said. He added that investigators have found no motive for the shooting, or any evidence that it was either gang- or drug-related.

Police are investigating the death of a bicyclist who was struck by a van late Monday in Anaheim, Lt. Bill Wright said. David E. Knoch, 18, of Anaheim was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center after being hit about 10:42 p.m. on Euclid Street north of Palais Road, Wright said. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the victim, who had stopped breathing after the accident.

An Anaheim woman died and a man was injured when their motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car making a left turn, authorities said Sunday. Rosa Mendoza, 18, died Sunday morning at UCI Medical Center in the City of Orange of head injuries suffered in the Saturday night accident, a deputy coroner said. Antonio Bautista Moreno, 23, also of Anaheim, was in fair condition Sunday at the same hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

A 32-year-old Anaheim man died Tuesday after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car being driven by a man suspected of being drunk, a police spokesman said. Kory Pawlawski was riding north on Brookhurst Street when a car driven by Frank Vlacilek, 31, also of Anaheim, made an illegal turn at the Orange Avenue intersection, Anaheim Police Sgt. Jim George said. Pawlawski made a vain attempt to avoid colliding with Vlacilek's Pontiac Firebird, George said.

An early morning argument Tuesday between a 22-year-old Anaheim man and two bicyclists led to the man's being shot in the left leg and a Sheriff's Department search for the assailants. Crispen Zabala was walking about 1 a.m. in the 9000 block of Picadilly Way, which is in an unincorporated area just west of Gilbert Street and the Riverside Freeway in Anaheim, when he was confronted by two men riding bicycles, sheriff's officials said.

A 20-year-old Anaheim man, who was thrown from his motorcycle after it collided with a pickup Thursday, died Friday from head injuries, police said. Justin Lett was traveling west on Orangethorpe Avenue near Thomas Street at about 3:20 a.m. when his motorcycle struck a pickup driven by a 55-year-old Corona man who was attempting a U-turn. Buena Park Officer Larry Hainley said Lett tried to pass the pickup on the left as it began the turn, which is permitted in that area.

Police are investigating the death of a young Anaheim man whose body was found in a city street, the victim of either a homicide or a hit-run incident, they said. The body of Marco Antonio Murrieta, 18, of Anaheim was found Tuesday night about 10:35 in the 1000 block of East Balsam Avenue. Police said he apparently died of severe head injuries. "The exact cause of death has yet to be determined," Police Sgt. James George said.
