Anaheim Memorial Medical Center officials also will address whether the community is prepared for an anthrax outbreak. A 27-year-old Anaheim man died of gunshot wounds Thursday after being brought to a hospital emergency room by several people who then fled, police said. The man was not named pending notification of relatives. He was dropped off at Anaheim Memorial Medical Center about 4:40 p.m., then taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died several hours later, said Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department.

An employee of a food distribution warehouse died and a firefighter suffered minor injuries late Thursday when a blaze swept through the building, officials said. John Macht, 46, of Anaheim, who occasionally stayed at the business, was asleep on the second floor of the Arena Foods warehouse in the 1100 block of Blue Gum Street when the fire began about 10:30 p.m., officials said. A firefighter was treated at Anaheim Memorial Medical Center for heat exhaustion, officials said.

Free vaccinations will be offered today for youngsters 1 to 18 years old at Anaheim Fire Station No. 2, 2141 W. Crescent Ave. Immunizations will be provided for measles, tetanus, diphtheria, mumps and polio. Children should be healthy and free from a cold or flu to get the shots. A parent or guardian must accompany each child. The program is presented by the Anaheim Fire Department and Anaheim Memorial Medical Center with the help of Fire Chief Jeff Bowman. A car traveling more than 100 mph on the 91 Freeway early Wednesday hit another car, injuring its driver, and flipped five times. The driver of the speeding car fled on foot, a California Highway Patrol officer said. Officer Denise Quesada said the unidentified driver lost control of a Mitsubishi Lancer traveling west near State College Boulevard in Anaheim about 1 a.m. and clipped a Nissan Altima, which also flipped over.

Free immunizations for children will be offered today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anaheim Fire Station on South Euclid Avenue. The service will be provided by professionals from Anaheim Memorial Medical Center and eight members of the city's Fire Department. Immunizations will be available for measles, tetanus, diphtheria, mumps and polio. Children from 1 to 18 years of age are eligible. Each participant must be free of cold symptoms and accompanied by a guardian.

Police cordoned off part of Anaheim Memorial Medical Center about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday after an employee spotted a suspicious-looking cylinder behind the pharmacy. Four hours later, a bomb squad and hazardous-materials crew determined that the object was a counterbalance weight discarded by an employee, Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

A construction worker was electrocuted late Tuesday while working at a business, officials said. The worker, Edward Delatorre, 24, of Bell was lying on scaffolding in full cardiac arrest when paramedics reached him, according to Anaheim Fire Department spokesman Kent Mastain. He was taken to Anaheim Memorial Medical Center and was pronounced dead shortly after 11 p.m. Anaheim police Sgt.

Five residents and business leaders have been appointed to serve on the Anaheim Family YMCA board. Joining the board for two-year terms are Michael C. Carter, chief executive officer of Anaheim Memorial Medical Center; Dick Clark, manager of environmental affairs for Boeing in Anaheim; and Raymond Iskander, marketing director for American Medical Response ambulance company. Also appointed were Joaquin Quesada, general manager of Aramark Sports & Entertainment Inc.
