A top legislative aide to former Arizona Gov. Evan Mecham has been named director of development for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. In the new position, Donna Carlson will be in charge of the chamber's participation in the Hollywood redevelopment program and its entertainment industry-related events, and will work as an ombudsman and try to generate membership. Carlson was the legislative liaison for Mecham but resigned before the Republican governor was forced from office.

Impeached Arizona Gov. Evan Mecham demanded acting Gov. Rose Mofford forward all his mail unopened, and accused her of dismantling his Administration before the state Senate can decide whether to remove him permanently. Mecham, who was impeached by the House on Feb. 5 and also faces criminal trial in March on charges of concealing a $350,000 campaign loan, complained that his mail room staff had been removed despite an earlier understanding.
