A third motorcyclist was arraigned Sunday in connection with the assault of an SUV driver who was chased down and beaten in front of his wife and 2-year-old child in Manhattan last week.  Reginald Chance, 37, who is suspected of using his helmet to bash in the driver's window, appeared at an arraignment in a New York City court Sunday. He stands charged with several felonies, including gang assault in the first degree and assault. (Gang assault, under New York law, means causing serious injuries with the help of two or more people.)

Basketball star Lamar Odom is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on an alleged DUI. Odom, a current free agent who played for the Lakers and Clippers and who was named NBA's Sixth Man of the Year, was arrested Aug. 30 after he was spotted driving his white Mercedes sport utility vehicle erratically on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, authorities said. His driver's license was suspended for one year after he refused to take chemical tests intended to determine his possible level and type of intoxication.

A North Hollywood man is scheduled to be arraigned on a murder charge Monday morning in the death of a woman who was struck and killed by cars on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar. Ricardo “Rick” Jimenez, 26, is accused of stabbing   Maria Josefina "Josie" Jimenez , 22, of Westlake, before she fell or jumped from a vehicle onto the freeway, where she was fatally hit by other drivers. Witnesses described Ricardo Jimenez's red Toyota as swerving erratically on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar Aug. 29 when it cut left across the lanes toward the shoulder, then veered hard right before correcting itself.

Two Vista Murrieta High School football players are expected to be arraigned Tuesday on sex crime charges involving six underage girls. Both players are 17 and have been removed from the team, Coach Coley Candaele said. One player is charged with two counts of forcible rape involving two victims, two counts of lewd acts with a girl under 14 and three counts of imprisonment involving three additional victims, according to John Hall, a spokesman for the Riverside County district attorney's office.

LAS VEGAS -- Police here were continuing their investigation into what they termed “one of the major domestic terrorism threats in the United States today” after the arrest of two people accused of plotting to kidnap and kill law enforcement officers across Southern Nevada. Roommates David Allen Brutsche, 42, and Devon Campbell Newman, 67, were arraigned Friday on charges that included conspiracy to commit murder and attempted kidnapping. The two were arrested earlier this week inside their Las Vegas apartment after a months-long sting operation into an alleged plot by the anti-authority "sovereign citizen" movement that authorities say might lead to other arrests.

A 31-year-old special education teacher at Corona's Centennial High School is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges she had sex with five teenage boys over the last year. Summer Michelle Hansen was charged Tuesday  with 16 felony counts involving sex acts with five teenagers younger than 18, none of whom were students in her life skills class. Riverside County prosecutors allege that from May 2012 to May 2013, Hansen committed sexual acts with the teenagers -- who were as young as 16 -- in her classroom, in a campus utility room, in her vehicle parked near a teenager's home and at the home of another teen.

The man who authorities say shot three people to death during a municipal meeting in Ross Township in Pennsylvania was arraigned Tuesday morning. Rockne Newell, who was tackled to the ground by two people at the Monday night meeting and then shot in the leg with his own gun, was charged with homicide and other charges. Newell, 59, was involved in a long-running feud with town officials over his property where he kept a junkyard near his home, officials say. He was evicted earlier this year.

A New York woman accused of fraudulently collecting $480,000 from a fund for Boston Marathon bombing victims was arraigned in a Boston municipal court, Atty. Gen. Martha Coakley's office said in a statement . Audrea Gause, who appeared in court Friday, was arrested July 19 in her hometown, Troy, N.Y., on a Massachusetts fugitive warrant. The 26-year-old Gause is charged with larceny over $250. She pleaded not guilty, and Judge Thomas C. Horgan set her bail at $200,000, the statement said.

The arraignment for the man accused of killing his girlfriend, who held the Guinness World Record for shoe-related items, has been continued until next month. Justin Charles Smith, 29, was charged with killing Darlene Flynn, 58, who was found dead in Menifee on Monday in her backyard pool by authorities responding to reports of domestic violence. Smith was arrested after officers found him running shirtless from the Stone Lane residence. His arraignment was continued until Aug. 8, according to the Riverside County district attorney's office.  It's unclear if investigators have recovered a weapon from Flynn's ranch-style home, but they did say Flynn was found with signs of blunt-force trauma.

A friend of the late Menifee woman who boasted the Guinness World Record for shoe-related items said she had been in a rocky relationship with the man now being held on suspicion of murder in her death. Darlene Flynn, 58, was found dead earlier this week in the backyard pool of her Menifee home, and her 29-year-old boyfriend, Justin Charles Smith, was arrested after officers found him running shirtless from the Stone Lane residence. A friend of Flynn's, 71-year-old Lenore Rice, told the Press-Enterprise in Riverside that Flynn and Smith's relationship had been "volatile" and that they were no longer together.
