A 30-year-old Simi Valley man has been arrested in connection with 14 sexual assaults committed over the last five years in this quiet, suburban community that routinely ranks as one of the safest in the nation. Vincent Henry Sanchez, a part-time studio employee, was arrested Sunday night after police received a tip from his roommate. Sanchez is expected to be charged today with multiple felony counts of burglary, sexual assault and kidnapping. He remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

Tipped off by Compton residents who recognized the sketch of a suspect in the killing of a retired teacher, investigators have arrested two teenagers living within a mile of the victim. Los Angeles Sheriff's Lt. Ray Peavy said one suspect, 16, had the alleged murder weapon, a gun, when he was arrested Thursday afternoon. The second suspect, 17, was arrested a few hours later. Neither was identified because of his age, and Peavy was vague as to who turned them in.

After a two-month investigation, police and state investigators Wednesday raided a Reseda home that allegedly housed an operation that sold phony documents used to obtain California driver's licenses. Elis Santoyo, 23, was arrested at the home and booked on felony perjury charges for allegedly having two false driver's licenses, authorities said. Arrest warrants were issued for nine other suspects.

A 22-year-old man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in Louisville, Ky., turned himself in Monday to sheriff's detectives in Palmdale, authorities said. Amir Rashard Dukes, 22, is wanted on suspicion of assault and wanton endangerment in connection with the May 31 shooting, which left an 18-year-old man partially paralyzed, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Det. Christopher Keeling. The incident may have been gang-related, a Louisville police spokeswoman said.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies searched Thursday night for a man who allegedly helped his partner rob a woman outside a Valencia bank, then disappeared on foot after abandoning his getaway car, a department spokesman said. Lancaster resident Mireyah Hernandez suffered minor injuries when she was pistol-whipped by a man who robbed her at gunpoint, authorities said.

A 20-year-old man was arrested after he led investigators to a grave site in a remote area of San Bernardino County where the body of a woman from Whittier was found, according to authorities. Juan Jimenez, 20, whose address was not immediately known, was arrested on suspicion of murder after investigators made the discovery Saturday night, said Deputy Faye Bugarin, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Stand-up comedian Paula Poundstone was arrested and jailed Wednesday in Santa Monica on charges of committing three lewd acts against a child and child endangerment. Poundstone, an adoptive parent who is also known for her work as a foster parent, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Malibu by Santa Monica police, said Joe Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

A Montana man, apparently confused by Northern California geography, was arrested Sunday evening at Burbank Airport after he jumped a fence, ran across a runway and tried to board a plane bound for San Jose, police said. Timothy John Grabowski, 31, of Missoula, Mont., said he was running late as he tried to board the 5:55 p.m. Southwest Airlines plane to the Silicon Valley, Burbank Police Sgt. Rick Madrid said. A flight attendant stopped him, and airport police were called.
