The 6-foot senior guard finished with 83 points and two national records. Moy set records for most threes made and attempted as he made 24 of 43 Tuesday night in his team's 115-59 victory over Manassas. That topped the 21 of 39 by Chad Bickley of Valley Christian Academy of Santa Maria, Calif., in 1994.

About 150 purebred puppies destined for pet stores on the East Coast were found overheated in a broken-down cargo truck. Four died. The dogs were found Tuesday afternoon by mechanics who were fixing a flat tire and other problems that arose as the driver passed through Nashville. The driver, who was not identified, was charged with cruelty to animals and inhumane transport conditions. He is to appear in court June 7. The puppies were stacked in plastic pet carriers in the truck's cargo section.

A man suspected of killing three people during a three-state rampage that started with the death of a 25-year-old Oklahoma woman was arrested at a motel in Union City, Tenn. Steven Ray Thacker, 29, of Chouteau, Okla., was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice and with the theft of a vehicle, Union City Police Chief Joe Garner said. He also is considered the prime suspect in the late December death of Laci Dawn Hill of Bixby, Okla.

Six inmates, including three convicted killers, escaped from a maximum security prison Sunday after handcuffing their guards to a chair and stashing them in a laundry room, officials said. Two of them were recaptured 18 hours later. Two of the prisoners, at least one armed with a homemade knife, had been allowed out of their cells to distribute meals for Ramadan at Riverbend prison, along the Cumberland River.

A 5-year-old kindergarten pupil was arrested after bringing a loaded pistol to school because he wanted to kill his teacher for punishing him with "timeout," according to police records. Police took three men into custody and seized tear gas canisters, grenades and ammunition Wednesday from a house just blocks from where a stolen FBI SWAT van was set on fire. The FBI said the three men and two others already under arrest for an unrelated theft were being questioned Wednesday. "They may have some information," FBI agent Ed Young said. "I think the guys are in hiding. The weapons are hidden, and they're trying to get rid of them."
