The Olsen twins have made a new name for themselves in the fashion industry with their luxury brand the Row, but Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen actually sashayed into the world of fashion at a much earlier age when they donned designer duds on the set of their hit sitcom, "Full House. " The fiercely private twosome explained to Net-A-Porter magazine the Edit that their start in the industry coincided with their acting career while the pair alternated playing Michelle Tanner, the youngest daughter of the Tanner family when the now-syndicated comedy aired from 1987 to 1995.

Actress Ashley Olsen has sold her Hancock Park home for $1,399,000. The 1926 Spanish-style house has a wood-beam ceiling and fireplace in the living room, an arched doorway leading to the formal dining room and a second-story balcony with a period tile staircase. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,322 square feet. French doors open to a covered patio and a yard, which has a tiled pool with a spa. Olsen, 23, starred in the sitcom "Full House" (1987-95), playing the same character with her fraternal twin, Mary-Kate Olson, starting at the age of 6 months.

Ashley Olsen has canceled a trip to Australia to stay with her twin sister, Mary-Kate, who is being treated for "a health-related issue." Us Weekly and People magazines reported this week that Mary-Kate has an eating disorder and had entered an unidentified treatment center. Her publicist, Michael Pagnotta, wouldn't comment on those reports. Ashley had been scheduled to attend the Australian premiere of their new movie, "New York Minute," in Melbourne next week.

Twin actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have sued video game publisher Acclaim Entertainment Inc. over what they claim are payments Acclaim has not made under terms of a settlement agreement. An Acclaim spokesman could not be reached for comment. According to the suit, filed April 15 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Acclaim has failed to pay nearly $178,000 that was due by April 1 under the terms of a settlement reached in September involving royalties from games featuring the girls.

"She's not dropping out. Celebrity clothing brands have become a ubiquitous force in fashion, but this wasn't always the case. A decade ago, attaching a famous name to a mass-market brand was still fairly rare and was seen by some as a last alternative when movie scripts and TV offers slowed down. But now it's not only acceptable, it's almost expected.
