In an odd yet understandable marketing strategy, the folks behind E!'s new reality show "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" have spent a lot of pre-premiere publicity time explaining what the show isn't. Which is to say, Clint Eastwood. The legendary actor and director will appear in but a few episodes and then only briefly. He will not, for instance, be slamming doors or engaging in filmed therapy sessions with his wife, Dina, around whom the show revolves (see title.) That doesn't mean the show is not about Clint Eastwood; it is. If the principal characters -- Dina, her 15-year-old daughter Morgan and 19-year old stepdaughter Francesca -- were not related to him, there would be Absolutely No Reason to watch this, which, by reality show standards, promises to be tame to the point of sedation.

Five people were dead Wednesday morning after a gunman entered a Korean health spa in suburban Atlanta, got into an argument and then opened fire before turning the weapon on himself. Norcross police were continuing their investigation and were interviewing witnesses after the Tuesday night shooting, officials said. Capt. Brian Harr told the Associated Press the shootings appeared to be “domestic-related.” The incident began about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when the unidentified man walked into the Su Jung Health Sauna, about 15 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta in Gwinnett County, police said.

Stan Kasten still wears the massive World Series ring he won 17 years ago as president of the Atlanta Braves, and he says there has rarely been a day when someone hasn't wanted to touch or hold it. "I take it off every day," he said Wednesday. "Because I'm asked by a fan, by a staffer, by a player to see it. And I want them to see it. This is why we're here. " Kasten, 60, was standing in front of home plate at Dodger Stadium wearing a crisp white Dodgers home jersey over a blue tie as he spoke about how he, as team president, planned to turn the Dodgers into consistent winners — just as he had done in Atlanta.

The Clippers made progress in clawing themselves out of their recent slump with a 96-82 win against Atlanta on Wednesday. It was a lopsided victory in which the Clippers often led by double digits, and never trailed. The Hawks went on a run at the start of the fourth quarter, coming to within five points of the Clippers after Josh Smith made a three-pointer to put the score at 74-69. But the Clippers were not about to lose their third game in a row on their home court -- and it was the team's bench that ensured the victory.

The victims of an overnight shooting at a Korean health spa in suburban Atlanta were related to each other, supporting the police theory that the murder-suicide was the result of a family dispute. Five people, including the gunman, died in the Tuesday night shooting at the Su Jung Health Sauna in Norcross, Ga., about 15 miles from downtown Atlanta. Two of the victims were sisters of the gunman and the other two were their husbands, police confirmed on Wednesday. The fifth dead person was the shooter.

The concerns about Javy Guerra that Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly shared on Wednesday night were about his health, not his ability to close. Guerra was the losing pitcher for the second consecutive night, as he was charged with his second blown save of the season in a 4-2 defeat by Atlanta. The right-hander recorded only one out in the three-run, five-hit ninth inning by the Braves that dropped the Dodgers' record to 13-6. Three batters into the disastrous inning, a comebacker by Brian McCann struck Guerra on the right side of the jaw. Guerra remained in the game and a batter later, the 2-1 lead the Dodgers took on Matt Kemp's major league-leading 10th home run disappeared.

ATLANTA — Chris Paul limped out of the Clippers' training room Tuesday night, his mild left groin strain causing as much pain as his team's inexplicable performance against the Atlanta Hawks. He took the blame for the Clippers' 109-102 loss to the Hawks at Philips Arena, saying it was his job to have his teammates ready for a game that had so much importance. Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro was upset his team didn't play better, knowing it would have clinched at least fourth place in the West and the home-court advantage over the Memphis Grizzlies, whom they now will face in a first-round Western Conference playoff series.

African American women in six U.S. cities are becoming infected with HIV at a rate five times the national average for black women, and closer to the rates of some African countries, according to a new study. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University and around the country who made the findings suspected the rates were relatively high in these "hot spots" that have battled the epidemic for decades, but the numbers still came as a surprise in a field that tends to focus more on black and gay men. The researchers found that in Baltimore; Atlanta; Newark, N.J.; New York City; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and Washington, the annual rate of infection was 24 per 10,000 black women.

With his 40th birthday approaching, Chipper Jones announced on Thursday that he will retire after his 19th season with the Atlanta Braves. The third baseman, who has spent his entire career with Atlanta, has battled injuries for the last several seasons and actually decided to retire in 2010, only to change his mind. This time, he means it. The team issued a statement to announce this would be Jones' final season. No matter what happens, the 1999 National League most valuable player will go down as one of baseball's greatest switch-hitters, and a strong candidate for the Baseball Hall of Fame with his .304 career average, 454 home runs and 1,561 runs batted in. :: The Philadelphia Phillies' Ryan Howard is working out without a boot on his left foot.
