Kevin Bacon has learned the hard way the tricky dance of discussing current TV on social media without giving too much away. The actor and star of the Fox hit "The Following" issued an apology to his fans via Twitter on Tuesday after he unknowingly spoiled a major plot twist on his series for international viewers who hadn't had a chance to see the most recent episode. Beware, those of you who are still behind on the twisty-turny serial killer drama: Spoilers lurk below. After the airing of the most recent episode, "The Curse," a TV producer and director, Jodi Gomes, tweeted a compliment to Bacon and show creator Kevin Williamson.

"But they're weeds. " My much better half is not, shall we say, "adventurous" when it comes to greens: A "real" salad is built around a wedge of iceberg or chopped romaine. Stewed collards are fine for New Year's Eve, and sauteed spinach can make an occasional appearance at the dinner table. But that's where the love ends. Forget arugula and radicchio, and don't even think about frisee. So when I pitched dandelion greens for dinner the other night, well, you can probably understand the breathless shock.

When you're 12, few things beat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich - If you don't count video games, spending your allowance on candy from the Sweet Factory or slurpees of course. But after a hard morning's work at school, there's nothing better than opening up your lunch pale to find a PB&J in a Ziploc bag. The combination of smooth peanut butter and sweet, sticky strawberry jam is comforting and filling. Tuesday happens to be National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Yes, there is an entire day devoted to the popular childhood sandwich.

How does the old saying go? If you love something so much, you should marry it. How about just bringing it straight into the bedroom? If you're a true bacon lover who longs to bring bacon between the sheets, without the grease, now you can. J&D, the guys who brought you bacon shaving cream , have released bacon condoms. Each has an image of bacon on it all the way to the end. And if that's not enough bacon love for you, the condoms are filled with J&D's "baconlube," a water-based meat-flavored personal lubricant.

For a dinner at home last night, just the two of us, we made steamed mussels - not our usual recipe that involves lots of freshly cracked black pepper, but “mussels with bacon, apple and shallot” from the new book and iPad app “ Lark: Cooking Against the Grain .” I liked Lark chef John Sundstrom's idea of including a splash of apple cider, apple cider vinegar and a diced Granny Smith apple in the broth, along with thin rings of...

A new series of occasional posts explores all things meaty and fatty. Bacon fans probably already know Los Angeles baconista Rashida Purifoy, owner of Cast Iron Gourmet -- purveyor of small-batch bacon (including pork, duck and lamb bacon), bacon fat pimento cheese, bourbon bacon chutney, bacon jam, pork nuts (corn nuts fried in bacon fat) and Purifoy's Couch Mix  (caramelized bacon, dried fruit, chocolate and nuts). On March 5, Purifoy will be teaching a bacon-curing class at the Beverly Hills Greystone Mansion Vintage Kitchen, part of a series organized by the Institute of Domestic Technology.
