Some say the best time to visit Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure is after school starts, because they're not crowded. Now, you can save money too. United and US Airways have a $243 round-trip fare from LAX to centrally located Salisbury , Md., which is about 120 miles or less from Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del. The fare includes all taxes and fees and is subject to availability. The ticket must be purchased seven days in advance and has no minimum stay. Colorado ski and snowboard resorts are rolling out a variety of inexpensive early-season bargains to lure schussers onto their slopes.  Here's a sampling: Colorado Gems Card : This discount card is good at the eight Colorado Gem resorts (Arapahoe Basin, Eldora, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Ski Cooper, Ski Granby Ranch and Sunlight). It offers deals and discounts for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. In addition to the resorts' upgraded season-long deals, there is a new component to this year's Gems Card: Flash Deals, which are special promotions and ways to save that are unique to each Gem resort and will be announced at the last minute throughout the season.

Cyber Monday brings out the strangest hotel bargains, but we're not complaining. These two Manhattan hotels make a winter trip to the Big Apple a bit more affordable. But watch the timing: One deal has a tiny booking period, while the other is wide open. The Duane Street Hotel in New York’s fashionable Tribeca neighborhood  plans to have a 29-minute sale on Cyber Monday (Nov. 29). Whew, set your stopwatches now! Here's a midweek deal that lets you enjoy wine tasting or Pechanga Resort & Casino without worrying about driving home. Deal: The Mid-Week Escape to Ponte Vineyard Inn in Temecula provides a 30% discount on a Sunday-Wednesday stay in November or December with no minimum stay requirement. Freebies at the 60-room inn, which opened in June 2012, include parking, a fitness center and Wi-Fi. Eco-measures include LED lighting, low-flow toilets and showers and rooftop solar panels.

It's no secret that movies inspire travelers to visit places they see on the big screen. Now one travel company has designed a tour to India based on the movie " The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel . " The film takes place in Rajasthan, and the 13-day tour follows suit. However participants stay in four-star hotels rather than the down-at-the-heel "hotel" shown in the film (though there's a visit to that site). The trip begins and ends in Delhi and includes a tuk-tuk ride, a visit to Kanota Castle where the Viceroy Club was set in the film, and a day trip to Rawla Kumpar to see the hotel featured in the movie.

Here's a nice getaway for those who put off their summer vacation or want an inexpensive winter break. And let's face it: Hawaii is almost always a nice weather spot. Hawaiian Airlines launched a sale on airfares Monday from the West Coast to Honolulu with tickets starting at $388 round-trip from Los Angeles. The deal: Check out the featured fares on the airline's website to find cheapest seats month by month. Lowest fares apply to midweek flights; weekends cost about $50 more.

Virgin America announced Tuesday that it would begin flying three daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Philadelphia in April -- bringing more options to fly on the airline deemed best in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure readers.  Flights between Los Angeles and Philadelphia international airports begin April 4. Tickets are on sale now and cost $129 each way, excluding tax and fees. To get that fare, reservations must be made by 9:59 p.m. PST Friday for travel between April 4 and June 15, with some blackout dates.
