Todd MacCulloch, a 7-foot reserve center, creaked out of the 76er locker room and made his way to the team bus. Next stop, a king-sized Shaquille O'Neal hangover. "I definitely feel him the morning after," said MacCulloch, who played 16 minutes in the 98-89 Laker victory. "I still felt him from the first game, and I only played two or three minutes. It's a good thing I don't play a whole season against him. I don't think my body would be able to take it."

At least 11 people were shot after a block party in Baltimore, police said. No deaths were immediately reported, but there were "some very serious injuries," Baltimore police spokesman Kevin Enright said. He said investigators did not know how many shooters were involved but that firing was "indiscriminate." A block party with about 200 people had been held on the street early in the evening, Enright said. It was supposed to end at 7 p.m.

In a celebration of its effort to combat hunger and violence in the northeast Valley, the New Christ Memorial Church will hold its annual "Help Heal Our Streets" block party Friday and Saturday. Organizers expect to distribute more than 50 tons of food to 5,000 needy families during the festival, which will run from 4 to 11 p.m. each day at the church, 13333 Vaughn St., Pacoima.

In an effort to heighten awareness of drug prevention and safety measures and generate support for anti-crime programs, the Ventura County Sheriff's Station in Camarillo will hold its fourth annual Night Out Block Party today. The event, from 5 to 9 p.m., is actually 36 small block parties throughout the city, according to Senior Deputy Jim Aguirre.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department will hold its annual block party and carnival today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at Rio Plaza Elementary School at 600 Simon Way in Oxnard. The party will feature games, food booths and also showcase specialized units of the Sheriff's Department. Tyson Chandler scored 25 points, had 16 rebounds and tied a state record for a playoff game with 14 blocked shots to lead defending state champion Compton Dominguez High to a 75-50 victory over Bakersfield Foothill in the Southern California Regional Division II boys' basketball championship game Saturday at the Forum. Dominguez (34-2) will make its fifth championship-game appearance in six years Friday against Newark Memorial at Arco Arena in Sacramento.
