What can Brown do for you? The Clippers could find out as soon as tonight after acquiring point guard Bobby Brown on Tuesday from the New Orleans Hornets for a conditional second-round draft pick, a move they hope will bolster their depleted backcourt. The Clippers pounced on the opportunity to add the former Westchester High and Cal State Fullerton player after recent injuries to guards Sebastian Telfair and Eric Gordon forced them to sign JamesOn Curry from the Development League.

THE spectacle that is Fashion Week in L.A. brought eye-popping dance performances, colorful after-parties and a just-gotta-be-me attitude that seemed perfectly at home in this most lawless of fashion cities. Who said it's all about what's on the runway? Certainly not Clint Catalyst, who turned heads with his miniature top hat on opening night at BOXeight downtown. Three days later, Jeff Carillo did the same with his "no-hawk," a 'do that gives new meaning to "receding hairline."

Singer Bobby Brown left Tarzana Regional Medical Center on Wednesday after being admitted the night before for a mild heart attack, his attorney said. "They attributed [it] to stress and diet," lawyer Phaedra Parks said. She said the 38-year-old R&B singer and former husband of Whitney Houston was in "great spirits" and hoped to perform as scheduled Saturday at the Taste of Soul concert on Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles.

With R&B singer Bobby Brown a no-show in court, an Orange County judge Wednesday granted Whitney Houston a divorce and sole custody of their 14-year-old daughter. Some of Bobby Brown's best sports memories happened when he was a kid, and that bothers him a little. He's a senior at Cal State Fullerton, a 6-foot-1 point guard who went from bench rider in his junior year of high school to NBA prospect his junior year of college, but still cites a recreational league game as a 10-year-old as his career highlight. That, he said, is one of the reasons he's still in a Fullerton uniform.

First it was Nick and Jessica, then it was Carmen and Dave, and now, for the third time in less than a year, more bad news comes down from a publicist on high: Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler -- the heavily tattooed former drummer of Blink-182 and his former Miss USA wife -- are calling it quits. That means three celebrity couples who have pimped their relationship on MTV reality shows have ended up in divorce. Coincidence or curse?

Bobby Brown, who left New Edition in the 1980s for a solo career, reunited with the band Sunday night for two songs at the Essence Music Festival in Houston. As the other five members moved to slick choreography, Brown ran around the stage wildly and performed raunchy dance moves. Brown then left the stage, and the remainder of the group -- original members Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe, plus Johnny Gill, who replaced Brown -- performed several ballads.
