Is anyone to take seriously the University of Michigan advertisement for an athletic director in your sports section (July 19). The candidate must have superior verbal skills, a commitment to advancing student goals, be non-discriminatory and (you fill in your own superlatives). There hasn't been anyone around like that for 2,000 years. Seattle today drew the first pick in the NFL's supplemental draft and selected Brian Bosworth of Oklahoma, despite the All-America linebacker's assertion he would not play for the Seahawks. Bosworth wants to play in Los Angeles with the Raiders or Rams, in New York with the Jets or Giants or in Philadelphia with Coach Buddy Ryan. He has promised to sit out the 1987 season and re-enter next year's college draft rather than play elsewhere.
