Freshman linebacker Jamie Kuntz says he was kicked off the North Dakota State College of Science football team because his boyfriend kissed him during a game, a charge the school disputes. Kuntz, 18, said he and his 65-year-old boyfriend were in the press box at a game against Snow College in Pueblo, Colo., on Sept. 1. Kuntz was videotaping the game for the team when "the kiss just happened," he said. The school says Kuntz was disciplined by the team but says it wasn't because he is gay. Football Coach Chuck Parsons told Kuntz in a letter that he was removed from the team for lying about the kiss.

A San Diego woman was being held Monday on suspicion of stabbing her boyfriend to death Sunday night. Police Sgt. Nate Caplan said that about 9:20 p.m. Sunday officers responding to a call found Paul Robert Ramirez lying wounded on the floor of his apartment in the 3500 block Fairmount Avenue. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he died a short time later, Caplan said. Witnesses told police that, before the stabbing, Ramirez had been arguing with his girlfriend, Mary Ann Bankhead, 25.

A 23-year-old Bell Gardens man was shot early Thursday as he sat in his car outside his girlfriend's Northridge apartment complex, authorities said. The man, whose name was not released, was about to drive away from the building at Wilbur Avenue and Parthenia Street when shots were fired about 2 a.m., said Sgt. The boyfriend of entertainer Cher was fined $1,175 Monday and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service for destroying the equipment of two photographers who were staking out the Benedict Canyon home of the Academy Award-winning actress. Rob Camilletti, 24, a former New York bagel maker, was also placed on two years' unsupervised probation by West Los Angeles Municipal Court Judge Ronald Schoenberg.
