March 27, 1988
By late 1989 or early 1990, downtown Los Angeles will have its first major supermarket--a 36,000-square-foot Boys Market at Sunset Boulevard and Grand Avenue. Highland Park-based Boys Markets Inc., which has agreed to a buyout by a Mexican company, will lease the space for 20 years for a total consideration in excess of $5 million, according to Brad and Jeff Luster of Major Properties, Los Angeles. Major Properties represented both Boys Markets and Lowy Development Corp.
