Florida officials said Saturday evening they hadn't found the body of the man swallowed by a sinkhole two days earlier, and planned to stop looking. A somber-faced county administrator told reporters in Seffner, Fla., that the now-60-foot-deep sinkhole, which forced other families in the Tampa-area neighborhood to evacuate, was simply too deep and too dangerous for efforts to continue. "At this point it's really not possible to recover the body," Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill said after extending his condolences to the family of 37-year-old Jeff Bush.

HOUSTON -- Members of the Bush family, including both former presidents, have apparently been hacked, and the Secret Service is investigating. A hacker who goes by the name of Guccifer has reportedly compromised the email accounts of at least six people close to George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and has distributed some of the private emails and photographs online. The Smoking Gun published a report Thursday saying it had spoken with the hacker, who said he wasn't worried about the possibility of the FBI or Secret Service coming after him. Guccifer said the "feds" have been investigating him a long time and "this is just another chapter in the game.” PHOTOS: 10 tech companies to watch in 2013 Among the photographs allegedly posted online by the hacker were two showing President George W. Bush painting, and one with him and Ralph Lauren.

Danish democracy's astonishing origin story has all the makings of a world-class political soap opera. Rife with madness, adultery, decapitations and gorgeous costumes, the Oscar-nominated "A Royal Affair" revisits the saga of a liberal doctor who tried to launch a revolution from the inside out after infiltrating the court of crazy King Christian VII and his beautiful Queen Caroline in the 1760s. Despite the juicy source material, nobody had made a movie out of Denmark's nation-defining melodrama until writer-director Arcel Nikolaj Arcel came along.

"Mr. Orr, this is the White House operator. " As a White House spokesman, I received phone calls like this all the time. But this was the first time the president's secretary had ordered me to report to the Oval Office immediately. Before 7 a.m. on a Saturday. It was December 2003. Iraq was all over the news. We were closing in on the capture of Saddam Hussein. But - and the nation should be thankful - this wasn't my domain. President George W. Bush had another reason for calling for me now. Barney Cam. How it happened Whenever I'm asked to speak about my tenure in the White House, the conversation always shifts to Barney, the Scottish terrier whom the president regarded as the son he never had. After Barney died Friday at age 12, I found myself thinking about how he became an Internet sensation.

George H.W. Bush, the nation's oldest former president, could be released this week from a Texas hospital after nearly two months of treatment, according to a family spokesman. Bush, 88, could be released from Methodist Hospital in Houston, if doctors give him the final approval, spokesman Jim McGrath said in an email to reporters. “We are hopeful that the president can be discharged this coming week, but we're still taking everything one day at a time,”  McGrath said. If Bush is released, it is unclear whether he will return to his Houston home or be sent to a rehabilitation facility.

WASHINGTON - As dean of Yale Law School, Harold Hongju Koh was among the fiercest critics of President George W. Bush's "war on terror," arguing that his administration had trampled the Constitution and tarnished America's international standing by claiming the power to capture "enemy combatants" abroad and hold them without charges at the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The next administration must "restore the rule of law in the national security arena," end "excessive government secrecy" and set aside the "claims of unfettered executive power," Koh told a House panel in 2008.

Former President George H.W. Bush has been moved out of intensive care at a Houston hospital after his condition improved, a family spokesman said Saturday. Bush, the oldest surviving president at 88, is now in a regular patient room at Methodist Hospital, where he will continue his recovery, the spokesman said. “The Bushes thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes," family spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement. Bush was admitted to the Houston hospital Nov. 23 suffering from a bronchial cough . McGrath said earlier this week that a series of setbacks, including a persistent fever, caused doctors to move Bush into the intensive care unit Sunday.
