At Surprise, Ariz. AT THE PLATE: In a split-squad game for the Dodgers, left-fielder Jason Repko hit a home run and Andre Ethier had a run-scoring triple against starter Colby Lewis . Lucas May and Xavier Paul also had run-scoring hits. ON THE MOUND: Starter Josh Towers gave up only three hits in four innings, but two of the hits were David Murphy's home run and a Murphy triple that led to another run. Ramon Ortiz's spring-training scoreless streak ended at nine innings when he gave up a home run to Matt Brown . EXTRA BASES: With Repko on first base, Chin-lung Hu hit a ball that struck Repko, who was called out on runner's interference.

San Diego 9, Dodgers 4 AT THE PLATE: Rafael Furcal and Matt Kemp each had two hits, including run-scoring singles. Doug Mientkiewicz brought home a run with a squeeze bunt. ON THE MOUND: Starter Hiroki Kuroda gave up three earned runs and seven hits in four innings, including a solo home run to Will Venable. EXTRA BASES: Veteran infielder Ronnie Belliard made his first start for the Dodgers at first base. UP NEXT: In split-squad contests, Ramon Ortiz is the scheduled starting pitcher for a 1 p.m. game against the Texas Rangers in Surprise, Ariz.

Dodgers 7, Milwaukee Brewers 3 AT THE PLATE: Casey Blake was three for four with a run and a run batted in. The Dodgers were six for 14 with runners in scoring position. ON THE MOUND: Josh Towers gave up three runs in five innings. Manager Joe Torre used fellow fifth-starter candidate Ramon Ortiz out of the bullpen and Ortiz responded by striking out two in a scoreless inning. Closer Jonathan Broxton and setup man George Sherrill each tossed a scoreless inning.

Dodgers 3, Oakland 3 AT THE PLATE: Manny Ramirez (0 for 2), Matt Kemp (one for two), Andre Ethier (0 for 2), Casey Blake (one for two, one run) and Rafael Furcal (0 for 2) were pulled in the bottom of the fourth inning of this night game. ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda had his best start of the spring, limiting the A's to a hit and two walks over 51/3 innings. He said he was pleased with how he was able to record eight ground-ball outs. EXTRA BASES: Manager Joe Torre said he would announce the Dodgers' opening-day starter Thursday.

Cincinnati 3, Dodgers 1 AT THE PLATE: This wasn't a good night for the veteran infield trio of Rafael Furcal, Casey Blake and Juan Uribe, who were a combined 0 for 8 with three strikeouts. Regulars Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and James Loney took the game off. ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda became the first Dodger starter to give up an earned run this spring, as he was charged with two runs and six hits in 21/3 innings. But Kuroda said he was pleased with his curveball, a pitch he has wanted to add to his arsenal for the last decade.

Dodgers 7, Brewers 1 AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers hit three home runs in their first 10 spring games and four in the first five innings Tuesday, with Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Aaron Miles each hitting his first Cactus League home run. Kemp, Ethier, Miles and Ivan DeJesus Jr. had two hits apiece; Kemp is batting .389 this spring. ON THE MOUND: John Ely pitched three shutout innings; he has given up no runs, no walks and two hits in six spring innings.
