Dodgers 7, Milwaukee Brewers 3 AT THE PLATE: Casey Blake was three for four with a run and a run batted in. The Dodgers were six for 14 with runners in scoring position. ON THE MOUND: Josh Towers gave up three runs in five innings. Manager Joe Torre used fellow fifth-starter candidate Ramon Ortiz out of the bullpen and Ortiz responded by striking out two in a scoreless inning. Closer Jonathan Broxton and setup man George Sherrill each tossed a scoreless inning.

Dodgers 3, Oakland 3 AT THE PLATE: Manny Ramirez (0 for 2), Matt Kemp (one for two), Andre Ethier (0 for 2), Casey Blake (one for two, one run) and Rafael Furcal (0 for 2) were pulled in the bottom of the fourth inning of this night game. ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda had his best start of the spring, limiting the A's to a hit and two walks over 51/3 innings. He said he was pleased with how he was able to record eight ground-ball outs. EXTRA BASES: Manager Joe Torre said he would announce the Dodgers' opening-day starter Thursday.

AT THE PLATE: Juan Uribe, overcoming the physical "tightness" he has been feeling lately, doubled home two runs as the Dodgers ended a losing streak at eight games. Gabe Kapler singled in a run and Eugenio Velez singled home the winning run in the eighth inning. ON THE MOUND: Clayton Kershaw gave up 11 hits and six runs, five earned, in 52/3 innings. Hong-Chih Kuo, Blake Hawksworth and Ron Mahay each pitched a scoreless inning. EXTRA BASES: Kershaw was the first of the Dodgers' starting pitchers to bat this spring; he struck out and had a sacrifice bunt.

Kansas City 11, Dodgers 5 AT THE PLATE: Bench candidate Juan Castro hit a towering three-run home run. Andre Ethier had a double and James Loney had two hits. ON THE MOUND: Tim Redding pitched three scoreless innings, extending his streak this spring to five innings. Former first-round pick Scott Elbert continued to have control problems, walking four of the five batters he faced. Elbert has walked six of 10 batters this spring. EXTRA BASES: Ethier made a sliding catch near the right-field fence to end the top of the second inning.

Dodgers 7, Brewers 1 AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers hit three home runs in their first 10 spring games and four in the first five innings Tuesday, with Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Aaron Miles each hitting his first Cactus League home run. Kemp, Ethier, Miles and Ivan DeJesus Jr. had two hits apiece; Kemp is batting .389 this spring. ON THE MOUND: John Ely pitched three shutout innings; he has given up no runs, no walks and two hits in six spring innings.

Dodgers 5, Angels 0 At the plate: With the exception of using a designated hitter, the Dodgers fielded what they expect to be their everyday lineup. Rod Barajas hit a solo home run, Rafael Furcal had two hits, Casey Blake had a double and Matt Kemp hit a two-run single. On the mound: John Ely struck out three over two scoreless innings to begin his longshot campaign to make the team. Jon Link also pitched two scoreless innings. Mike MacDougal, Blake Hawksworth, Kenley Jansen, Ramon Troncoso and Juan Rincon all pitched one scoreless inning.
