Cincinnati 3, Dodgers 1 AT THE PLATE: This wasn't a good night for the veteran infield trio of Rafael Furcal, Casey Blake and Juan Uribe, who were a combined 0 for 8 with three strikeouts. Regulars Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and James Loney took the game off. ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda became the first Dodger starter to give up an earned run this spring, as he was charged with two runs and six hits in 21/3 innings. But Kuroda said he was pleased with his curveball, a pitch he has wanted to add to his arsenal for the last decade.

Dodgers 7, Brewers 1 AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers hit three home runs in their first 10 spring games and four in the first five innings Tuesday, with Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Aaron Miles each hitting his first Cactus League home run. Kemp, Ethier, Miles and Ivan DeJesus Jr. had two hits apiece; Kemp is batting .389 this spring. ON THE MOUND: John Ely pitched three shutout innings; he has given up no runs, no walks and two hits in six spring innings.

Dodgers 6, Texas Rangers 4 Phoenix AT THE PLATE: Matt Kemp hit a two-run home run, Brian Cavazos-Galvez hit a home run and Blake DeWitt tripled and scored on Andre Ethier's double to help pace the Dodgers' 10-hit attack at Camelback Ranch. ON THE MOUND: Starter Hiroki Kuroda gave up two unearned runs and two hits in three innings. Relievers Jonathan Broxton and George Sherrill each surrendered one earned run in one inning or less of work. EXTRA BASES: Garret Anderson was one for three with a single as the Dodgers designated hitter in his first spring-training game.

Dodgers 5, Angels 0 At the plate: With the exception of using a designated hitter, the Dodgers fielded what they expect to be their everyday lineup. Rod Barajas hit a solo home run, Rafael Furcal had two hits, Casey Blake had a double and Matt Kemp hit a two-run single. On the mound: John Ely struck out three over two scoreless innings to begin his longshot campaign to make the team. Jon Link also pitched two scoreless innings. Mike MacDougal, Blake Hawksworth, Kenley Jansen, Ramon Troncoso and Juan Rincon all pitched one scoreless inning.

Kansas City 8, Dodgers 4 AT THE PLATE: Manny Ramirez hit his second homer of the spring, sending a fourth-inning pitch by Zack Greinke over the left-field wall. Blake DeWitt was two for three with a double, a run and a run batted in to raise his spring average to .372. ON THE MOUND: Jonathan Broxton and George Sherrill pitched on consecutive days for the first time this spring. Broxton tossed a scoreless inning, but Sherrill lasted only two-thirds of an inning, as he gave up a hit and walked two. EXTRA BASES: Rafael Furcal was charged with his fourth error of the spring in the fourth inning.

San Francisco 5, Dodgers 3 AT THE PLATE: The offense remains stalled. The Dodgers loaded the bases with no outs in the second inning, but got only one run out of it, as Ivan DeJesus Jr. grounded into a double play. The organization's reigning minor league player of the year, Jerry Sands, drew a walk and scored a run. ON THE MOUND: Jon Garland pitched three innings in his spring debut and held the Giants to an unearned run, two hits and a walk. Closer Jonathan Broxton issued a walk in an otherwise perfect inning.

PHOENIX - Only two Dodgers have pitched six innings in a game this spring. The first was Clayton Kershaw. The second was Aaron Harang, who did it Thursday in a 3-1 defeat to the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch. The Dodgers' No. 4 starter, Harang gave up one run and six hits. He struck out six and walked one. “I'm really pleased,” Harang said. “I felt the ball was coming out really good.” Harang also successfully bunted to advance Juan Uribe from first base to second in the fifth inning.

White Sox 6, Dodgers 1 Cubs 4, Dodgers 3 (10) AT THE PLATE: Hector Gimenez hit a solo home run against the Chicago Cubs in Las Vegas, one of the Dodgers' split-squad games Sunday. In the other, against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch, the Dodgers' three hits included doubles by Dioner Navarro and Justin Sellers. ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda pitched six innings against the White Sox ? the longest stretch for a Dodgers starter so far this spring ?

AT THE PLATE: Matt Kemp was 0 for 4 with three strikeouts, dropping his spring average to .118. Kemp has struck out eight times in 17 at-bats. Kemp also didn't hit well last spring, when he struck out 26 times in 65 at-bats. But Kemp batted .417 with 12 home runs and 25 runs batted in last April. ON THE MOUND: Josh Beckett held the Reds to a run and two hits over 41/3 innings. He struck out five and walked two. The only run charged to him came on a third-inning home run by Shin-Soo Choo.

Arizona 3, Dodgers 0 AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers were shut out for the first time this spring, and were held to four hits. But some of the regulars played deep into the game to prepare for opening day. Outfielders Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp weren't taken out until the eighth inning, and first baseman James Loney played into the ninth. ON THE MOUND: Clayton Kershaw threw 94 pitches in his penultimate start of the spring, and gave up two runs and eight hits over five innings.
