It was not immediately known what led to the collision involving the 26,000-pound truck.  CHP officials said diesel fuel on the road prompted the closure of the freeway lanes, and that an onramp was also closed for several minutes.

A winter storm on Saturday morning forced the closure of Interstate 5 over the Grapevine at Tejon Pass, temporarily blocking California's main north-south artery. The heavily traveled stretch of freeway was shut down shortly before 10 a.m. because of snow and ice, making the steep grade difficult to navigate, officials said. It's unknown when the road will be reopened. “That's up to Mother Nature,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Priessman said. Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol shut down the northbound I-5 at Parker Road in Castaic, along with Highway 58 through the Tehachapi Pass, because of icy conditons, Priessman said.

The fire started close to the intersection of the Old Road and Victoria Road about 8:45 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.   No evacuations have been ordered, officials said. No cause of the blaze was given, but the extremely hot weather and dry conditions were making it harder for firefighters to get the fire under control quickly.  ALSO: Traffic delays L.A.'s first gay marriage since 2008 Sacramento same-sex couples race to wed: 'History, baby!
