Both players have something to prove. Sanchez, who looked sharp in his first three games, is coming off a four-turnover performance in a loss at New Orleans. How will he bounce back? In the wake of the Jets' first defeat of the season, Sanchez told reporters he needs to do a better job of keeping his emotions in check.

The Miami Dolphins' Chad Pennington may not be available to give his winless team a much-needed lift. The quarterback dislocated his right shoulder and may seek a second opinion to determine how long he will be sidelined, a person familiar with his status said Monday. The person insisted on anonymity because the Dolphins have said little about the injury. Teammates braced for a new quarterback, with backup Chad Henne expected to make his first NFL start in Sunday's home game against the Buffalo Bills.

Chad Pennington dropped back and threw a few light passes. That counts as significant progress for the injured New York Jets quarterback, who was still preparing Thursday to play against the Baltimore Ravens. Pennington appeared to favor his injured right ankle in practice but made some throws during drills after not taking any snaps the previous day during the half-hour period that the media were allowed to view.
