President Clinton spent Friday visiting with family and friends as hundreds of mourners from around the country gathered for the funeral today of his mother, Virginia Kelley. After a 15-minute morning visit to the funeral home, Clinton was seen comforting his tearful half brother, Roger, 37, as the pair left the home. Clinton, wearing a brown leather jacket, put his arm around his weeping younger brother. With them at the Gross Funeral Home for a private viewing was Mrs.

On a breezy summer night, behind the stone walls of a 106-year-old estate, hundreds of celebrities, dignitaries, family and friends gathered Saturday to witness Chelsea Clinton make Marc Mezvinsky the newest member of the Clinton political clan. Clinton and Mezvinsky wed just before sunset on the secluded Astor Courts estate after frenzied days of anticipation among a nation of wedding-watchers. On Saturday, townspeople and media hordes converged on sidewalks of this community north of New York City hoping for a glimpse of the festivities.

On his way to this island resort Thursday, President Clinton made his plans clear. "You have more stuff for me?" he asked his personal aide, Andrew Friendly. "I don't want it. Burn it." Clinton seemed determined Friday to put his do-nothing plan into action. He was out until nearly 1 a.m. celebrating his 47th birthday at the vacation home of Washington lawyer and Administration adviser Vernon E. Jordan Jr. After that late night, the expected morning jog never happened. Neither did the 10 a.m.

Missing the star power of Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Rodham Clinton toured the state Saturday with her mother and daughter Chelsea in tow, in a series of low-key campaign events in which she dialed down attacks on her rivals. Maybe it was the soothing presence of her family in the crowd, but Clinton, speaking in soft tones, repeatedly passed up opportunities to tar her opponents. A man here who said he was inclined to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president asked why she merited his vote.

Maybe you were privy to an e-mail that was circulated, perhaps, by Chelsea Clinton this week. According to a post Tuesday by Emily Bazelon of the online magazine Slate, the e-mail's subject heading was "a must read ... send to every woman you know." The body of the e-mail was a pro-Hillary screed by the famous 1960s- and 1970s-era feminist Robin Morgan (author of the iconic "Sisterhood Is Powerful" anthologies) called, "Goodbye To All That (#2)." The essay was dated Feb.

I feel badly for Chelsea Clinton because she is the same age as I, which is 13, and she is living in the White House, where she can't be alone at any time. A lot of things in my life bother me, but if I were put in Chelsea's place, I would ask to be sent away. Because the one thing I resent drastically is to have people with me at all times--when I say "people" I mean people like Secret Service men, not people like my friends. She probably can't even go to buy a soda by herself.

Some people have to do everything with flair, and their wedding is no exception. Or make that flare. After all, there were fireworks when you first met — shouldn’t there be sparks at your nuptials, too? Whether it’s pyrotechnics in the sky, sparklers as décor or confetti poppers as favors, let the Fourth of July inspire a bit of snap, crackle and pop on your special day. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their vows with fireworks. So did Katy Perry and Russell Brand.
