On the court, Blake Griffin is a terror who runs through opponents with the power of a freight train then stuffs the ball down their throats. Off the court, he's just a normal guy who can relate to a 3-year-old boy. Chris Paul's son, Chris, found Griffin in the locker room amid the sea of reporters after Wednesday's preseason game. Little Chris wanted to tell his buddy all about where he likes to keep his toys and how he has to wear a floatation device when he swims. Griffin, who had just scored 23 points, listened intently.

They were and are close friends, but now Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul and Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe will be foes. Paul and the Clippers will host Bledsoe and his surprising Suns on Monday night at Staples Center. Paul and Bledsoe were teammates for two seasons with the Clippers, and the two of them used to go at each other during practice. Paul was like the big brother, always giving Bledsoe advice on how to run the team, how to be a better point guard.

All early indications Sunday were that Chris Paul was going to re-sign with the Clippers. The Clippers' plan is to offer Paul a maximum five-year deal worth $107.3 million when the free-agency period opens at 9:01 p.m. Sunday night. Paul, an unrestricted free agent, can agree to the deal tonight, but he can't sign a contract until the NBA lifts its moratorium on July 10. Doc Rivers, the Clippers' new coach and senior vice president of basketball operations, plans to be at Paul's home Sunday night right when the free-agency period opens, said NBA executives who weren't authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - While Chris Paul was getting his bruised right kneecap worked on in the training room Thursday morning, Caron Butler was on the Target Center court participating in the Clippers' shoot-around. Butler said he will play Thursday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves despite a sore right foot. The Clippers have been listing Paul as day-to-day, but he has missed the last two games. There were no indications that Paul would play against Minnesota, meaning that backup Eric Bledsoe would be the starting point guard.

Blake Griffin walked past the media after the Clippers' shoot-around without talking about his sprained right ankle that has left his status uncertain for Friday night's Game 6 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro stayed with the company line regarding Griffin playing against the Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum. “Blake's status is it's game-time,” Del Negro said. “He's battling through it and we'll see how he feels once he gets his warm-ups and we'll see where we're at.” Chris Paul had his bruised left thumb wrapped during practice, but he said that he will play.

Clippers point guard Chris Paul didn't play against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night because of a strained right hamstring. Coach Doc Rivers said he told head athletic trainer Jasen Powell the team wanted to be “way more conservative than aggressive” with Paul's injury. The Clippers play the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center, but Paul might miss that game too. The Clippers start an 11-day trip with a game in Atlanta on Wednesday. Rivers is hoping that Paul will be healthy for the road games.

The Clippers said Chris Paul, who has a strained right hamstring, is listed as a game-time decision for Friday night's game against the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena. During Clippers Coach Doc Rivers' post-game news conference following a victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, he made a passing comment about the health of guards Chris Paul and Darren Collison. But as it has turned out, Paul was feeling fine on Tuesday after feeling some discomfort in his right groin muscle during the Suns game. Collison also was feeling better on Tuesday after he was hit in the groin area by Suns guard Goran Dragic during the game. Both Paul and Collison will play Wednesday night when the Clippers host the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center.

When Chris Paul found out that Chauncey Billups is out indefinitely with an inflamed tendon in his left foot, Paul was frustrated. "Man, I was hurt to find that out because nobody loves to play the game of basketball probably as much as me and Chaunce," Paul said. Paul considers Billups a brother-type figure. When Billups suffered a torn Achilles tendon last February, an injury that kept him sidelined for nearly 10 months, Paul still sought Billups' advice from the bench.
