The City Council on Tuesday tentatively approved a development agreement with Claremont McKenna College to build more athletic facilities in the Arbol Verde neighborhood. The agreement is a 33-year, three-phase plan that will allow the college to expand the campus into the neighborhood with a new baseball field, parking lot and street, and then to build dormitories on the land currently used for sports.

Ron Corona Cypress, Sophomore Baseball Corona, from Victor Valley High, turned in the most dominant performance by a pitcher so far this season. The sophomore right-hander set a Cypress single-game record with 17 strikeouts as he pitched a five-hitter in a 4-0 victory over College of the Sequoias. Corona didn't walk a batter. He is 2-0. Baseball Richard Lane * Santa Ana, freshman. Went 11 for 19 with four home runs (he has nine overall) and 13 RBIs in four games.
