Soldiers in the Congo and the neighboring Republic of Congo resumed their cross-border shelling, causing panic in some areas of Kinshasa, the capital of Congo, as people fled their neighborhoods. At least two soldiers in Congo were killed and another was badly wounded in the exchange of mortar fire, Congolese radio reported. Officials in both countries blame the ongoing violence on Congo soldiers still loyal to late dictator Mobutu Sese Seko, who was overthrown in May.
