PGA champion Tiger Woods has sold his condominium in Corona del Mar for $2,213,875. But like many other residential real estate owners, Woods landed in the rough when it came to selling a place bought before the housing downturn. Public records show he bought the property in 2004 for $3 million. The town-house-style unit features an open-plan living room on the second story to take advantage of views of Santa Catalina Island. Features include high ceilings, a balcony, three bedrooms, a loft, three bathrooms and 2,000 square feet of living space.

Corona del Mar took seven fewer shots than Long Beach Wilson, but the Sea Kings capitalized more often in a 9-4 nonleague boys' water polo victory Tuesday night at Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach. "We played total team defense," said Artie Dorr, who scored three goals to lead Corona del Mar. "If a guy gets beaten on a drive, there's always somebody there to help him out." The topiary dolphins at the entrance to Corona del Mar -- once shaped so precisely they appeared to be leaping out onto bustling Coast Highway -- have begun to resemble manatees. Leaf-trimming couldn't save the creatures; no specialty pruner could be found. So the city has decided to remove the iconic bushes and hire someone to grow and groom new ones. "It's very, very difficult to get them back to the original shape unless you're like an Edward Scissorhands ," said Kathy Sommer , a horticulturalist who works with the city on plant care issues.
