A suburban Detroit company sued by Wonderware Corp. last fall over copyright infringement has filed a similar lawsuit claiming that the Irvine software maker unlawfully used its technology. Cyberlogic Technologies Inc. in Troy, Mich., asserted in its lawsuit filed in federal court in Detroit that Wonderware infringed on a Windows NT technology that Cyberlogic developed and copyrighted.

A suburban Detroit company sued by Wonderware Corp. last fall over copyright infringement has filed a similar lawsuit claiming that the Irvine software maker unlawfully used its technology. Cyberlogic Technologies Inc. in Troy, Mich., asserted in its lawsuit filed in federal court in Detroit that Wonderware infringed on a Windows NT technology that Cyberlogic developed and copyrighted.

Wonderware Corp. filed suit in federal district court accusing Cyberlogic Technologies Inc. of Troy, Mich., and a unit of Emerson Electric Co. of software copyright infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets. The suit charges that Cyberlogic and Emerson's Intellution Inc. unit in Norwood, Mass., infringed on a software program that Cyberlogic originally developed under a contract for Irvine-based Wonderware. The suit seeks injunctions as well as damages against the defendants.

Wonderware Corp. in Irvine announced Wednesday that it has reached an out-of-court settlement ending more than two years of legal disputes over copyright issues with a pair of rival software developers. Terms of the settlements between Wonderware, Cyberlogic Technologies Inc. and Intellution Inc. were not disclosed. None of the companies admitted any wrongdoing or liability.
