Rockwell International Corp. said Wednesday that its North American Aircraft Modification division in Anaheim will design a new cockpit electronics system for the Czech air force. The value of the first phase of the contract, which lasts for the next 30 months, is $18.6 million. Over the entire length of the 6 1/2-year contract, Rockwell expects to generate revenue of more than $100 million, two spokesmen for the division said.

Units of Rockwell International Corp. and AlliedSignal announced Thursday that they will join forces to compete for contracts to build the avionics integration program for the Czech Republic's L-159 aircraft. The agreement between Rockwell's North American Aircraft Modification Division and AlliedSignal's Government Electronic Systems forms the only U.S. team competing in the L-159 program.
