The romantic comedies "Heartbreakers" and "The Brothers" topped the box office, but Oscar contenders continued to do booming business on Academy Award weekend. "Heartbreakers," starring Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt as a mother-daughter con team, opened at No. 1 with $12.3 million. Some of the UPN television network's biggest advertisers will receive a package of "value-added promotions" in exchange for buying traditional air time at a premium for the upcoming season, a source said Friday. The promotions, which could run the range from product placements to show sponsorships, are part of a recent deal between UPN and the media-buying arm of ad agency Omnicom Group Inc., according to a source familiar with the situation.

Sean Penn's "Into the Wild" received a leading seven nominations for the Critics' Choice Awards, announced Tuesday by the Broadcast Film Critics Assn. "Juno" got six nominations, and "Atonement," "Michael Clayton," "No Country for Old Men," "Sweeney Todd" and "Hairspray" tied with five each.
