Irvine-based Data Processing Resources Corp. acquired IT Services Inc., a Dallas provider of information technology staffing services, for $28 million. IT Services employs about 90 consultants. Data Processing provides computer and information technology staffing services.

Data Processing Resources Corp., a Newport Beach provider of information technology staffing services, posted record profits and revenue for the third quarter. Net income grew 59% to $5.1 million, or 33 cents a share, from $3.2 million, or 23 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue for the quarter ended April 30 was up 32% to $93.2 million from $70.4 million.

Data Processing Resources Corp., a Newport Beach temporary staffing firm, said Monday it has acquired Qualitech Systems Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Thomas A. Vadnais has been named president and chief operating officer of Data Processing Resources Corp., a Newport Beach staffing company. He succeeds David Connell, who becomes executive vice president, responsible for strategic planning, acquisitions and integration-related activities. Vadnais, 51, was formerly president and chief operating officer of Tascor Inc., the outsourcing division of Norrell Corporations.

Data Processing Resources Corp.: The Newport Beach provider of information technology staffing services posted net income of $3.3 million, or 22 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter ended Jan. 31, which included merger-related expenses of $3.1 million. That was 38% higher than the $2.4 million, or 17 cents a share, reported a year ago. Revenue was up 60% to $90.2 million from $56.2 million.

Data Processing Resources Corp. said Thursday that it expects second-quarter revenue to fall as much as $1.5 million below expectations because of holiday shutdowns by the technology companies it serves and increased holiday time off by the temporary workers it supplies. The Newport Beach staffing company said that despite the sales outlook, it expects its net income and earnings-per-share figures to meet targets for the quarter.
