Two more Mediterranean fruit flies were reported Wednesday to have been trapped in Norwalk and Temple City, increasing the swath of residential neighborhoods targeted for at least one dose of aerial pesticide spray. As a result of the Norwalk find--a couple of miles from the Downey site where another fertile fly was reported to have been detected Tuesday--most of Norwalk will be added to a 17-square-mile sector to be sprayed Dec. 7.
