A telephone caller claimed responsibility on behalf of the IRA on Sunday for a mortar attack last week on a British military base in Germany. "The attack mounted against the military installation was carried out by one of our units," a man identifying himself as a representative of the IRA told RTE, the Irish state broadcasting network. Friday's attack on the British base at Osnabruck in northwest Germany caused no injuries but damaged buildings and vehicles.
