Universal Pictures can breathe a sigh of relief. Two of the studio's most prolific producers are expected to stay put at the studio, laying to rest speculation that they would find a new home. Working Title Films co-Chairmen Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner have not signed their new contracts, but the deal points were hammered out as of Friday, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be named because the negotiations were confidential.

ONE bright day last fall, movie producer Tim Bevan, a strapping Brit in a down vest, barreled through the streets of Soho on a walking tour of some of the most hotly anticipated British films of the year. It took just an hour. That's because Bevan, 49, speed-marched. In the London film world, there are no golf carts to jet around on, so Bevan strode in and out of buildings, past fields of rabbit warren offices, through editing bays.

The Producers Guild of America on Friday announced the documentary motion picture nominees for its 2013 awards. The nominees are: "A People Counted" "The Gatekeepers" "The Island President" "The Other Dream Team" "Searching for Sugar Man" The other 2013 PGA categories and individual producers are to be announced on Jan. 3. The awards are scheduled to be handed out Jan. 26 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Bob and Harvey Weinstein, J.J. Abrams, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and Russell Simmons are set to receive special honors at the ceremony.

Producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, whose latest films are the highly anticipated "Anna Karenina" and "Les Miserables," are this year's recipients of the Hollywood Film Awards' Hollywood Producers Award. The announcement was made Wednesday morning by Carlos de Abreu, founder and executive director of the awards. "It's a great pleasure to recognize these talented and prolific producers as the recipients of our Hollywood Producers Award," he said in a statement. Bevan and Fellner's production company, Working Titles Films, was founded in 1983 and over the years their movies have earned six Oscars, 30 BAFTA Awards and prizes at Cannes and Berlin.

Music producer and hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons will receive the Producers Guild 2013 Visionary Award at the 24th annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony Jan. 26 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Visionary Award recognizes television, film or new media producers for "their uniquely positive or uplifting contributions to our culture through inspired storytelling or performance," according to the guild. Simmons is being honored for his work in TV ("Def Comedy Jam") and film but also for his humanitarian efforts and role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador.
