After almost four months, the fate of a 90-year-old eucalyptus tree on Mesa Drive has been decided. The City Council voted last week to remove some of the pavement near the tree's roots, which have caused buckling along the residential street and caused a potential safety hazard. The pavement will be restored in such a way that it will not interfere with the tree's growth. The council will pay the approximately $1,500 for the work and will also install a "road narrows" sign.
