A bomb exploded at a multiracial hotel bar in Windhoek, Namibia, killing two people and injuring 14. The blast at the Continental Hotel came on the day that guerrillas of the South-West Africa People's Organization said they would begin observing a voluntary cease-fire in Namibia. The truce is part of efforts to find a settlement for Namibia, which is controlled by South Africa, and for Angola to the north.
