The Art Linkletter estate in Bel-Air has sold above its asking price for $10.6 million. Built in 1957, the 5,000-square-foot Midcentury Modern house includes two atriums, sculptural metal screens, pocket doors, two stone fireplaces and walls of glass. Carports and a motor court can accommodate about 20 cars. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The 4.6-acre city-view site contains a solar-heated swimming pool, a sports court and a lawn dotted with flagstone pathways. Linkletter, who died in 2010 at 97, hosted the long-running radio and television shows "People Are Funny" starting in the 1940s and "House Party," which was renamed "The Art Linkletter Show.

Actor Jesse Metcalfe has sold his house in the Beverly Crest area for $2 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service. The Mediterranean main house and guesthouse have 2,500 square feet of living space, including four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms. Built in 1999, the house features stone fireplaces, plank wood floors and wood-beam ceilings. A stone hot tub sits on a hill above the home, which is surrounded by lawn and steppingstone pathways. A starburst pattern adorns the stone driveway.

After leasing her West Hollywood house out last year, "Gossip Girl" actress Kelly Rutherford has returned it to the market at $1.099 million. The Spanish bungalow, built in 1926, features a living room with fireplace that opens to a sky-lighted dining room, an updated kitchen, two bedrooms and 13/4 bathrooms. The deck contains a bar and a built-in barbecue. Rutherford, 43, plays husband-hopping Lily van der Woodsen on "Gossip Girl" (2007-present). She was also in the series "E-Ring" (2005-06)

The Santa Monica home of screenwriter Alvin Sargent and his late wife, film producer Laura Ziskin , has come on the market at $11.85 million. Ziskin worked with designer Jane Hallworth in creating the detailed interiors. A back-lit honeycomb onyx fireplace is a focal point of the living room. When firefighters arrived at the $11-million mansion in the Hollywood Hills last year, they thought they had a chance to save the 13,500-square-foot structure. More than 80 firefighters raced to the home, and 19 were temporarily trapped as the fire spread. Veteran firefighter Glenn Allen was on the ground floor when several hundred pounds of plaster and lumber fell on him. His colleagues dug him out using chainsaws to cut through the debris, but his injuries were so severe that he died two days later.

Actor Pierce Brosnan has sold his Malibu beach retreat for $2.6 million. Brosnan and his wife, environmental activist and former broadcast journalist Keely Shaye Smith, put the property on the market at $3.9 million in 2010 while building another house nearby. The gated Mediterranean they sold has separate space for use as an office or media room and sits on more than a quarter of an acre with lawn space and a courtyard fountain. The flower boxes and hydrangea-lined pathways may have been a nod to Brosnan's Irish roots.
