Flo Rida "Mail on Sunday" (Poe Boy/Atlantic) ** In interviews, rapper Flo Rida has repeatedly articulated that his chief artistic goal is to approach things from the "left side," even tattooing his left biceps with a massive picture of Jimi Hendrix to honor the late lefty guitarist's iconoclasm. But rather than plumb uncharted creative terrain, "Mail on Sunday," Flo Rida's Atlantic Records debut, seems obsessed with familiarity.

The clean, crisp modern lines of "Tron" have been replaced by the chaotic, rose-colored acid trip of "Alice in Wonderland," but outside of an extensive cosmetic makeover, little has changed now that Disney California Adventure has rethemed its nightly dance party from ElecTRONica   to the Mad T Party. PHOTOS: Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure The shiny new look seems tailor-made for the short attention spans of the wall-to-wall under-25 crowd of mostly high school and college kids who have made the alcohol-infused and music-centric outdoor rave a wildly popular success at the Anaheim theme park.

Two snapshots of the music business were on display on the U.S. pop chart, with Prince's distribution strategy proving to be a bigger winner this week than the one used by rapper Flo Rida. While Prince landed at No. 2, selling 168,000 copies of his three-disc "LotusFlow3r," released exclusively through Target, Flo Rida struggled to turn success selling digital tracks into album sales. Flo Rida is a king of digital downloads.

Dr. Luke has lived in Los Angeles since 2008 but he still hasn't gotten the hang of valet parking. On a recent Thursday afternoon, the attendants at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills are having trouble matching the songwriter-producer's ticket to his Prius. Turns out he took his car keys with him into the restaurant — and not for the first time, either. "I grew up in New York," he explains a little later. "I never had to learn this stuff. " What Luke has learned — indeed, what he's more or less mastered — is the art of the hit: Born Lukasz Gottwald in 1973, he's the knob-turning, button-pushing, party-starting pop savant behind what seems like every second song on the radio right now. Katy Perry's " California Gurls"?

Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's Blitz!" (DGC/Interscope) 1/2 "Sometimes I think I'm bigger than the sound," sang Karen O on the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' last album, 2006's "Show Your Bones." Well, now we know she is: On "It's Blitz!," O leads her bandmates in a daring reinvention of the group's music, venturing way beyond the strictures of New York revival rock into something artier, prettier and far more profound. The first change you notice here is the absence of Nick Zinner's buzz-saw guitar, which did as much to establish the YYY sound as did O's Budweiser-banshee wail.

If there were any doubts about the seriousness of Jay-Z's quest to vanquish Auto-Tune, he dispelled them within seconds at Saturday's Powerhouse '09 in Anaheim's Honda Center. He opened his set with his single "DOA (Death of Auto-Tune)," an atypical shot across the castle walls of pop music, where the pitch-correcting software is a ubiquitous sound for pop vocalists -- including many preceding him at Powerhouse. For the virtuosic, confident rapper, that declaration of war comes during a career in flux.
